Evangelism Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: To be an intragyral part of doing the work to help fulfill Goshen’s Mission Statement by inspiring, promoting and encouraging the ministry of evangelism throughout the ministries of Goshen. To be willing to go out beyond the walls of the church, as disciples, to reach those persons that don’t know Christ. Effective Evangelism and Discipleship leads new Christians into a process of ongoing discipleship and spiritual formation.

Ministry Mission Statement: 
To connect the congregation to opportunities to be in missions at home and throughout the world.

Health & Wellness Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: The Health & Wellness Ministry Purpose is "To Promote A Positive Aspect of Spirituality that Will Lead to Healthy Behavior and Thinking; to Promote Prevention and Overall Wellness to Congregation and Community”. H&W Ministry Promote Our Church as A Place Where Hope, Religious Belief, Purpose in Life, a Connectedness to Others, Positive Self-image and Love is all Important Toward Good Health.

Our work is to Present/Coordinate in the Church and Community the Elements of Holistic Health and Healing through Discussions, Presentations, Workshops, Health Events, Nurture & Outreach Programs, and Services. We also work to encourage and empower other people to develop and share their gifts and talents to serve others. Our Health Ministry Goals are to Purposefully Help Individuals, Families, Groups; the Congregation and Community Focus on Holistic Health, Wellness; and Disease and Injury Prevention.

Church School Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: This ministry is designed to provide Christian education to the children and youth of Goshen United Methodist Church through Bible lessons and activities. Our purpose is to provide a strong Biblical foundation for the children and youth of Goshen so when they are faced with challenges and triumphs they will know where their help comes from, God.

Youth Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: The purpose of the ministry is to build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry (in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach) while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. The ministry is to advocate for Youth to participate in the total life of the church.

Ministry Vision Statement: Our vision is to help Goshen’s youth connect with God and each other and become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ

Young Adult Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: To inspire young adults to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, united together in an environment where all young adults are welcome.

United Women of Faith Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.

change those harms.

United Methodist Men Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: To minister to all, be a witness for Jesus Christ, assist the elderly, Have an active prayer life.

Ministry Mission Statement: Our mission is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others. Men lead others best by modeling Jesus Christ in thoughts, words and deeds

Media Team Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: The purpose of the media ministry is to creatively use technology for enhancing the worship service experience, equipping other ministries to embrace digital media as a worship outreach tool, and extending the worship experience beyond the physical walls of the church.

Worship Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: To lead the congregation in providing opportunities for worship celebrations that focus on God, help people of all ages grow in their understanding of the gospel and become better equipped for daily living as faithful disciples. To work with the pastor other leaders for vibrant worship of God.

MINISTRY PURPOSE: To serve all during worship service and beyond.

Culinary Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: The culinary team supports every ministry of the church. Depending on the ministry or non-member function, we spend approximately 20 to 30 hours a month purchasing, preparing and/or serving food to others.

Ministry Mission Statement: We are working disciples (at Goshen UMC) committed to using our culinary experience and spiritua gifts to serve our membership and community.

Ministry Vision Statement:
The Culinary Ministry Team has successfully cultivated partnerships with local community outreach groups and supports church ministries:
  • Forest Oak Towers (FOT) Outreach Project (Holiday Celebration (Tuesday, December 22, 2026)
  • Meals for Stewartown Homes After School Project (March 2026) and Annual Summer Camp (July 2026)
  • Men’s Prayer Breakfast (March 28, 2026)
  • Annual Fish Fry and Men’s Day Luncheon (July 18, 2026)
  • Tribe Ministries Event (July 12, 2026 ) full meal after church

SPRC Ministry


MINISTRY PURPOSE: Staff Pastor Parish’s number one task is to “Build Relationships” between the Staff and Congregation and between the Congregation and the District Superintendent. All members of SPPRC must be members and be nominated and confirmed by the Church Counsel.

MINISTRY PURPOSE: To ensure the financial stability and viability of the Goshen UMC.

Endowment Committee

 
Mission Statement: To oversee the churches' Endowment Fund by managing, investing and distributing funds to support the long term financial health of the church, creating a legacy for future generations to experience.

Music Ministry


Ministry Mission Statement:  The mission of Goshen's Music Ministry is to exhort, uplift, and encourage the body of Christ through song and worship.  Music and song continues to a vital role in the life of the church.  This is accomplished through the participation of 4 choirs - The Mass Choir, The Men's /choir, the Unity Choir and The Children's/Youth Choir.

Ways & Means Committee

 
Mission Statement: The Ways and Means Committee exist to support the financial health and mission of the church by developing and implementing plans to generate, manage and sustain resources.  The committee seeks to promote good stewardship, fiscal responsibility, and creative fundraising in alignment with the church's spiritual values and ministry gifts.
